The Sims 4

The latest version of the cartoon life simulator, The Sims 4, is a simulation game that gives you full control, well, almost everything. You can create your own characters and guide them through their lives from start to finish. Your job, your relationships, your home – it’s all yours (function () {(‘review-app-page-desktop’);}); Whether you choose to play as realistically as possible or decide to take a more playful approach, you’ll have the tools at your fingertips to experience whatever you want, polarizing entry into the franchise. With several entries over the past decade, all rich in DLC content, The Sims franchise has gained staunch following. Play and you will soon see why. The level of depth and customization is addicting, and you may find that you’ve accidentally spent hours immersed in your own virtual world. However, not all fans were enthusiastic about the base version of The Sims, which features a more streamlined version of previous titles, which not all fans were happy with. While fixes and DLCs have brought some of this missing content to the game, many fan favorite features remain missing. For example, the open world that many gamers loved in The Sims 3 is gone, and many options for supernatural characters are still nowhere to be found. This simplified Sims offering received a negative response from fans at first, The Sims 4 has become arguably the best entry point when it comes to customization; Addressing fan reaction, the developers of The Sims 4 said they wanted to cut back on the extra content to focus more on the characters themselves. This emphasis on character customization definitely made the animations richer and more varied. The faces look more realistic and have much deeper customization options. Sliders from previous titles have been phased out in favor of a new point-and-click system that lets you control the tiniest details. You can create a character that looks totally exclusive to free content. While this is certainly a sparse offering at launch, The Sims 4 has more than made up for it with the launch of a treasure trove of new content since launch. Additional content is grouped into three categories: Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Packs are great DLC offerings that include new worlds, game mechanics, and clothing. Downloading the Island Living expansion pack, for example, adds a new island world to the game. You can explore the island, dive, buy boats or play as the packages are a bit thinner than the expansion packs, but still offer a lot of content. Typically, game packs focus more on items or clothing for a specific theme, as in The Vampire Game, The Sims 4 has a lot of extra content added through regular free updates. Many features that fans have claimed were missing from the game’s release have been added to the game for free through these fixes. Despite the age of 5, LesSims 4 shows absolutely no signs of slowing down and more content will continue to arrive in the future. A Few Hiccups The Sims 4 is a great game, but that doesn’t mean it’s not without its flaws. One of the main features that gamers have complained about were removed at launch are the features that are still present in the game, it is much more streamlined than before, allowing users to select only a handful of features for a single Sim. Compared to a much deeper feature system in previous games, unfortunately you’re not able to delve too deeply into the personalities of your people, much of the content that was missing at launchwas added via DLC and fixes, the base version of the game still looks sparse without the additional content. If you are not inclined to download the DLC you may think that you are missing out on much of the game, one of the biggest complaints is the lack of an open world. While the world of The Sims 4 is still free to roam to some extent, you will find yourself faced with several loading screens. To say that loading screens are common can be an understatement. You’ll find these loading screens even when doing the simplest of tasks, as the loading times themselves aren’t particularly long and provide a more stable experience than previous titles with fewer crashes or crashes. That said, showing a loading screen every few minutes can be annoying. Sims 4 is still a polarizing game, despite the progress it has made since launch. If you’re more inclined to take reviews of the title seriously, try Avakin Life. Designed for mobile platforms, Avakin takes pages from titles like Sims and Second Life. Avakin also offers multiplayer options, which the Sims single player franchise does not yet offer is another mobile alternative with a similar concept. Online play is also featured on IMVU, allowing players to meet and interact with other avatars in a strong display despite having a bad start. Despite an admittedly shaky start at launch, The Sims 4 is perhaps the best Sims game yet. With tons of additional content, smoother gameplay, richer animations, and ongoing developer support, this could easily be the one Sims title you’ll ever need if you’re still concerned about the lack of content, rest assured. The Sims 4 still receive regular free updates and DLC packages filled with new games, locations, and costumes. The recently launched Discover University DLC package, for example, added academia to the game. Now you can send your Sims to college and enjoy all the hype that’s sure to follow.
